MMW @Mangy Moose in Wyoming 2004
– SHACK THOUGHTS –
The End Of The World Party (Just In Case) tunes are out in full force on this tour but also a nice mix of some older tunes, and (as mentioned) KILLER improvisation found in the usual opening slots of the shows, but also mixed into the sets. The first set of this 2/17 gig is just fire from top to bottom with the band clearly having a great time. Listening to the new tunes develop is a real treat. ’04 was a fantastic year for MMW and this first U.S. show of the year is a great continuation of the Japanese energy they started with in January of that year.
Can’t say it enough: Highlights for me are the opening improvisations building into a rocking We’re So Happy, and then the 2nd set’s Blue Pepper Improv jamming into the actual Blue Pepper — HOT!
enjoy the grooves,
