– SHACK THOUGHTS – 20 YEARS AGO TODAY
Maybe this will surprise you, but … this is another stellar spring ’96 performance! It’s really hard for these guys to have a bad night … if you’re into what they’re doing, and I am way into what they’re doing so my opinion is utterly biased. But here are a few moments of note:
- always nice to hear the guys begin from open space, Macha grooves nicely as always, and the open feel of the start circles back to hook into Lifeblood’s intro
- The Lover’s usual open ending uses some of the the intro sounds that belong to Henduck, but then the band veers into Dracula instead, with Henduck not arriving until after that
- ITAHTLMJ seems extra, I dunno, deep
- Bubblehouse > LCTDT(P) is raw meets epic; an interesting pairing
- Lonely Avenue … it’s 96, it’s raunchy, you’ll dig it
enjoy the grooves,
dug
