– SHACK THOUGHTS – 10 YEARS AGO TODAY
LOVE the opening 20min of this set — that last 5 being spent improvising around Thelonious’ Blue Monk! NICE! Cat Creeps making yet another appearance, it being a new tune then. The Letter is wicked good in this arrangement. The Late Set lands in a rare treat of Norah 6 after some Open Improv to start things off — I too caught a Norah 6 on the spring 2000 acoustic tour, and I think the tune is amazingly beautiful in a disjointed way. Seven Deadlies is *always* fun, and the band must have 4-5 different arrangements of this tune it seems! Or they’re just making it up as they go … We’re All Connected soothes again and Tootie > Wiggly’s Way is a fun way to close out the set, and cool to find Wiggly’s in here …

enjoy the grooves,
dug
