Set I = STELLAR + ADVENTUROUS MMW! Love the Improv, and that could just very well be We’re So Happy — which is wacked tune when played live anyway — but I noted it as an Improv on the tune since it’s pretty loose … cool piano solo > What’d I say and Egbe Mi O is a tune I would *love* to hear live, having never caught it …

Set II features some tunes of the kids album and Out Louder, along with an appearance by Oliver Wood which has its appeal (not hating on Oliver, but he just doesn’t bring much for me in this setting) …

The COOL moment, albeit unfortunate as well, is when the power goes out to cut off Nocturne (gotta love ’07 versions!) due to the fire alarm, and then the guys treat the crowd to rockin’ Buster > Caravan > Rides Again!

HA! You can hear a chick ponder aloud during this acoustic break about whether they’re just gonna play acoustic like that for the rest of the night, and she doesn’t sound impressed! HA!

MARCH 2007
These March shows that start off 2007 are HOT HOT HOT!!! I love them all and have listened to them often — especially the loose and improvisation heavy first sets from these gigs. I do have to say that I’m just not a huge fan of Oliver sitting in … it’s fine, but I don’t find he *lifts* the band up in their performance, if you know what I mean (and these days I would *MUCH* rather find Chris hanging more with his brothers from other mothers than his bio-bro, but I digress) … nonetheless, some cool moments from him in that 2nd set and great playing from the band … still have the MSMW tunes floating around since at this point they’d recently played the Nov > Dec tour with Sco

And you know what would be REALLY cool? If the 3/8 gig in Atlanta surfaced:

We had an incomplete copy of Nashville (3/4) pop up a couple of years ago, so there’s always hope … but for now …

enjoy the grooves,
dug
